Sunday August 20th the Refugee Youth Soccer Development Program celebrated its launch with a day of soccer activities at Granville Park. Around two hundred people from a variety of communities came along to participate and celebrate with the people and organisations involved in this program, the Liverpool MRC included.

- The Hon Gary Hardgrave, Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister made a brief but important visit to Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre on Tuesday 16 December 2003.

- In December 2003 a consultation was held with 40 people from the Kurdish Community living in the Liverpool LGA. The informal consultation was equally aimed at gauging the needs of the community as to introduce participants to the services run by the Australian Kurdish Association, the Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre and Centrelink. In celebration of the hard work and commitment made by volunteers involved in the Community
Visitors Scheme, an awards ceremony was held at LMRC on Wednesday 26th November.

Guest speaker & presenter Paul Lynch awarded past & present volunteers who have made the last 10 years of this unique project a success with awards of acknowledgment and words of praise both from the community and their peers.
The community visitors scheme involves weekly or fortnightly visits made to the elderly in Nursing Homes and Aged Care facilities. Targeting NESB (non English speaking background) communities, this project is one of a kind and has been running from the LMRC since 1993. Read
